scriptconnected script
Verbena specimen from ParaType

A two-weight connected cursive script designed at Double Alex Font Studio in 1995, based on Max R. Kaufmann's Kaufmann of 1936.

About

Drawn by Alexey Chekulaev, Verbena follows the flowing, joined letterforms of Kaufmann, with smooth baseline connections and moderate stroke contrast visible in the specimen. The family offers just two weights – Normal and Bold – making it a compact revival of the mid-century American brush script tradition.

Classification

The specimen shows a flowing, connected cursive script with consistent baseline joins and moderate stroke contrast, characteristic of a connected informal script. It is based on Kaufmann (1936), a classic connected brush script.
