A single-weight Victorian display serif digitised by Vladimir Yefimov in 1992, tracing its origins to the bold English styles of the Ossip Lehmann foundry in mid-19th-century St. Petersburg.
About
Originally drawn at the Polygraphmash type design bureau in 1986, Standard Poster revives the heavy, high-contrast display serifs produced by the Ossip Lehmann foundry in St. Petersburg during the 1800s. Yefimov produced the digital version at ParaType (then ParaGraph) in 1992, retaining the bold decorative character suited to posters and magazine headlines. Only a single Black weight is available.
Classification
A high-contrast display serif with roots in 19th-century English type, designed for headline and poster use. The heavy weight and strong contrast place it firmly in the Victorian display tradition.
