Every design decision in Softmachine – the rounded terminals, bold weight and letter proportions – serves a single goal: equal distance between strokes both within and between characters. OpenType Contextual Alternates handle adjacent glyph combinations that cannot be resolved through kerning alone, producing an unusually consistent typographic colour. A stylistic alternate set is also included.
