Pragmatica
ParaType · Vladimir Yefimov, with Isabella Chaeva, Manvel Shmavonyan and Alexander Tarbeev · 1989

A long-running Cyrillic neo-grotesque in the Univers mould, one of ParaType's foundational originals.
About
Pragmatica was developed at ParaType in the late Soviet period as a Cyrillic neo-grotesque with the structural discipline of Univers, and has stayed in active use ever since. It now spans condensed widths, a slab-serif variant and a reworked Next edition. A dependable corporate workhorse rather than an expressive display face.
Classification
A Cyrillic neo-grotesque built on the structural logic of Univers, developed as an original Soviet-era adaptation rather than a licensed reissue.
