Ottisk specimen from ParaType

An all-caps display typeface from 1996 with heavily eroded letterforms that simulate the texture of worn rubber stamps or degraded printing.

About

Designed by Alexey Chekulaev at Double Alex Font Studio, Ottisk presents capitals with irregular, rough-edged outlines evoking manual stamping or aged letterpress. Available in two weights, Regular and Semi Bold, the family is caps-only and suited to informal or vintage-styled applications.

Classification

The specimen shows all-caps letterforms with heavily eroded, rough edges simulating worn printing or stamping. The distressed texture and informal character place it firmly in the display category as a distressed or imitation type.
