A transitional serif commissioned by the Russian Bible Society, designed by Vladimir Yefimov in 2001 specifically for 8-point text setting, with a large x-height and Cyrillic and Latin coverage.
About
Originally released in 1996 as Scriptura Russica for the Russian Bible Society's modern edition of Testimonials, the design draws on Dick Dooijes's Lectura (1969) and Sumner Stone's Stone Print (1991) as primary references. Its large x-height improves legibility at small sizes, and all styles include old-style figures, while the Book weight adds small caps. Revised and rebuilt in 2012 with minor corrections and extended to include Western Latin characters and a Bold Italic style.
Classification
Explicitly described as a contemporary variation of Transitional Serif typefaces, inspired by Lectura (1969) and Stone Print (1991). Designed for small-size text setting with a large x-height, characteristic of transitional text serifs.
