A monoline informal script originally drawn by Tagir Safayev in 1995, expanded in 2010 by Dmitry Kirsanov and Gennady Fridman to include wider proportional variants and an extended character set.
About
Based on casual handwriting, the design takes its name from the Russian word for fortress, with the even rhythm of letters said to evoke a tight fence. The 2010 Pro version adds Semi Expanded and Expanded Demi styles alongside discretionary ligatures and alternates. Suited to advertising, packaging and display typography where an informal, handwritten quality is needed.
Classification
Monoline informal script based on casual handwriting, recommended for display and advertising use. Upright letterforms with expanded width variants give it a distinctive, fence-like rhythm across the text line.
