displayArt Deco displaycondensed
ITC Anna specimen from ParaType

A capitals-only condensed display face with Art Deco styling, originally designed for ITC in 1990 by Daniel Pelavin and later extended with a Cyrillic version and additional weights at ParaType.

About

Daniel Pelavin designed ITC Anna in 1990, first using it for his own wedding announcement before its publication through the International Typeface Corporation. The typeface is restricted to capitals and carries a distinctly Art Deco character suited to poster and headline work. ParaType added a Cyrillic version in 1993 and two further weights in 1994, expanding the family's reach into Russian-language applications.

Classification

A capitals-only condensed sans serif with strong Art Deco styling, designed for decorative and display use rather than text setting. Its ornamental character and all-caps construction place it firmly in the display category.
