A modular geometric display typeface built on a strict grid with no optical compensation, offering eight weights, a variable font and three stylistic sets that cycle through randomised alternate letterforms as you type.
About
Designed by Alexandra Korolkova and Dmitry Goloub, Grrr ignores conventional optical corrections: strokes are uniformly thick and round letters carry no overshoots, making it most effective at 21pt and above in print or 24px and above on screen. Three stylistic sets trigger pseudorandom substitution of alternates, so letterforms shift continuously during input. The family ships in eight named weights plus a variable font file.
Classification
A modular display typeface built on a strict geometric grid, deliberately eschewing optical compensation so that horizontal and vertical strokes share identical thickness and round forms have no overshoots. Designed purely for large-size use.
