A Bitstream-derived revival of H. Berthold's Englische Schreibschrift, recast as an incoherent Spencerian copperplate script with a Cyrillic extension added by ParaType in 2000.
About
Based on pressure pointed quill calligraphy of nineteenth-century English fashion, the typeface departs from typical copperplate scripts in that its letters do not link up. This quality makes it more legible at smaller display sizes and suited to advertising and decorative typography. Vladimir Yefimov extended the design with a Cyrillic character set at ParaType in 2000.
Classification
A Spencerian-style copperplate script based on pressure pointed quill calligraphy, derived from H. Berthold's Englische Schreibschrift. Unlike most copperplate scripts, letters do not connect, making it an incoherent script.
