A pixel-grid display face derived from Eboy-EXTBeta, built from squared monoline segments with a strict unicase construction.
About
Designed by Alexey Chekulaev at Double Alex Font Studio in 2003, Ecyr adapts Steffen Sauerteig and Kai Vermehr's 1998 Eboy-EXTBeta into a single Regular weight. Every letterform is assembled from right-angle strokes of uniform thickness, producing a rigid, screen-native aesthetic. The unicase approach and Cyrillic coverage give it a distinct technical and experimental character.
Classification
The specimen shows a strict pixel-grid construction with squared, monoline letterforms built entirely from right-angle segments – a characteristic bitmap or pixel display style. The Cyrillic glyphs visible in the specimen confirm its technical, unicase character.
