A 1930s American Type Founders all-capitals geometric sans, extended to Cyrillic by ParaType in 1997, offered here in Light and Medium weights.
About
Originally drawn by Morris F. Benton at American Type Founders between 1930 and 1933, Bank Gothic was conceived for advertising and display typography. Its squared-off letterforms with rounded corners and uniform stroke weight give it a distinctive geometric rigidity suited to headlines and poster work. The Cyrillic extension was produced at ParaType by Tagir Safayev in 1997, broadening its reach to Russian-language applications.
Classification
An all-capitals geometric sans serif with squared-off letterforms and rounded corners, designed originally for advertising and display use. Its uniform stroke width and geometric construction place it firmly in the display category.
