Valhalla
NoonFont · Amir Hosein Rouf · 2024

A single-weight angular display face built entirely from straight lines, drawing on Scandinavian runic inscriptions to produce deliberately irregular, sharp-edged letterforms with alternates and ligatures across Latin and Arabic scripts.
About
Designed by Amir Hosein Rouf and released in August 2024, Valhalla uses only straight lines and sharp angles, with no curves anywhere in the character set. Each letter is intentionally varied from its counterparts, mimicking the inconsistency found in ancient Scandinavian inscriptions. The family supports Persian, English, Urdu, Arabic and Kurdish, with swash alternates and ligatures providing additional compositional options for poster and cover work.
Classification
An angular display face composed entirely of straight lines and sharp edges, inspired by Scandinavian runic inscriptions. It eschews curves entirely in favour of jagged, militant forms, placing it firmly in the decorative/display category with blackletter-adjacent character.
