Obliqa Glitch specimen from Noir Blanc Rouge

A 2025 variable display typeface with a controlled italic axis that progressively distorts letterforms to simulate digital interference and wave-like glitch effects.

About

Obliqa Glitch is built around a single design principle: as the variable italic axis increases slant, letterforms fragment and ripple as though affected by real-time digital corruption. The effect is smooth and graduated rather than crude, giving the distortion a kinetic, choreographed quality. With 1,040 glyphs and support for 360 languages, it pairs a narrow design remit with unexpectedly broad typographic utility.

Classification

A display typeface built around a variable italic axis that introduces a progressive wave-distortion effect simulating digital interference. The retro-futuristic aesthetic and kinetic letterform distortion place it firmly in the experimental display category.
