DualBright specimen from Noir Blanc Rouge

Originally designed for stone carver Jean-Gabriel Franchini, this variable family interpolates between sans-serif and serif on a single axis, with additional plain, outline and stencil styles suited to engraved lettering and memorial work.

About

The variable axis lets the designer shift fluidly between sans-serif precision and serif detail, making it adaptable across the full range of memorial and monumental contexts. Alongside the core variable styles, the family includes colour, plain, outline and stencil cuts, totalling twelve styles. The glyph set is extensive, covering 360 languages, circled figures and letters, old-style and tabular figures, and a rich set of OpenType features.

Classification

A variable typeface with an axis that interpolates between sans-serif and serif, with additional decorative styles including outline, stencil, and plain variants. Designed for display and engraving contexts, placing it firmly in the display category.
