About
Lange's original metal type, drawn in 1957 as a streamlined offshoot of the Akzidenz-Grotesk family, was never developed into a full family until Spiekermann found it mislabelled in a type case. Roth worked from prints of the original metal type to produce the digital version, spanning seven weights from Thin to Bold, each with a matching italic. The family supports over 90 Latin-based languages and ships with an extensive set of OpenType features including small capitals, alternate figures and legibility variants.
Classification
A grotesque sans-serif derived from the Akzidenz-Grotesk lineage, specifically Lange's 1957 metal type simplification of the family's youngest weight, now digitised for the first time by Alexander Roth.
