neue Easo® Mono specimen from Neue

A monospaced extension of the Isonorm DIN EN ISO 3098 technical lettering standard, refined with optical stroke corrections and ink traps, available in five weights each with upright, italic and reverse-italic styles.

About

Derived from the Isonorm standard used in technical drawing, neue Easo Mono adjusts the monolinear strokes so that horizontal and vertical weights appear optically balanced, and introduces ink traps to improve performance in text settings. Five weights run from Thin to Bold, each offered in three angle variants: upright (0°), italic (+15°) and ritalic (–15°), totalling 15 styles with over 600 glyphs per style and support for more than 90 Latin-based languages. The family shares identical vertical metrics and character sets with its siblings neue Easo and neue Easo Eng, allowing the three subfamilies to be mixed freely.

Classification

A monospaced interpretation of the Isonorm (DIN EN ISO 3098) technical lettering standard, with monolinear strokes optically corrected and ink traps added for text setting. Fixed-width spacing and engineering-derived letterforms place it firmly in the mono category.
