neue Easo® Eng specimen from Neue

A contemporary expansion of the DIN EN ISO 3098 Isonorm technical lettering standard, offered in five weights each with upright, italic and reverse-italic styles.

About

Derived from the engineering draughting standard Isonorm, neue Easo Eng introduces optical corrections to equalise horizontal and vertical stroke weights and adds ink traps for improved text performance. The family spans Thin to Bold across three slope variants: upright (0°), italic (+15°) and ritalic (-15°). It shares its character set, style count and vertical metrics with the companion neue Easo and neue Easo Mono families, covering 600+ glyphs per style and supporting more than 90 Latin-based languages.

Classification

Monolinear strokes derived from the DIN EN ISO 3098 (Isonorm) technical lettering standard, placing it firmly in the geometric sans tradition. Optical corrections to horizontal stroke weights and added ink traps distinguish it from a strict standards-compliant implementation.
