MF Doom specimen from Metis Foundry

A variable-width display typeface built around angled sheared corners that compress and stretch proportionally with each glyph across a single axis spanning seven static styles.

About

The design's central conceit is that each corner cut is tied to the letter's own proportions rather than applied as a fixed decoration, so as the width axis moves, the personality shifts with it: monolithic and armour-plated at full width, dense and crowded when pulled narrow. Seven static styles are offered alongside a single variable font file covering the full range. Alternate stylistic forms and extended language support are included.

Classification

A variable display sans with a single width axis; its defining feature is angled sheared corners that scale proportionally with each glyph rather than sitting as fixed ornaments, producing an armour-plated, architectural character at wide settings and a crowded, compressed personality at narrow ones.
