About
Refrigerator Deluxe takes its cue from generic block-style lettering typical of the mid-twentieth century, the kind found in old American lettering manuals, though Simonson drew it purely from memory rather than tracing a source. It began as a single Bold weight in 2000, gained Light and Heavy a few years later, then added a Regular weight and a large set of alternate characters for building common block-letter variants.
Classification
A generic mid-century block-letter style, classed sans-serif as a plain gothic construction rather than a display novelty.
