Etna
Mark Simonson · Mark Simonson · 2020

A six-weight, four-width revival of the quirky Victorian Aetna wood type style, built to work as both text and display.
About
Etna takes the Aetna wood type style of the late nineteenth century and turns its Victorian eccentricities into a complete modern family: six weights with matching italics, plus three condensed widths meant for display use. Old style and lining figures, alternates, true small caps and a set of dingbats round it out. Two variable fonts are included with the full purchase.
Classification
A revival of the Aetna wood type genre, a nineteenth-century slab serif style, so it's classed as slab rather than display despite its condensed display widths.
