Gustan specimen from Lux Typo

A 16-style humanist sans by Greg Lindy, designed around structural order and legibility across a range of settings from small text to display use.

About

Gustan spans eight weights from Thin to Extra Black, each with a matching italic, giving designers a broad palette without straying from its functional core. Openness in the letterforms is treated as a response to small-size readability requirements rather than a stylistic gesture. Character spacing and combination decisions are guided by harmony and structure, making the family adaptable across editorial, branding and screen applications.

Classification

Gustan displays humanist sans characteristics with its open apertures, functional stroke structure and attention to legibility at small sizes. Its design decisions prioritise orderly structure and utility over geometric or grotesque conventions.
