Apparat

A four-width, eleven-weight geometric sans that introduces humanistic letterform adjustments drawn from Dwiggins' Metro to improve distinction between similar characters across 88 styles.
About
Built on a geometric foundation of circles, straight lines and triangles, Apparat tempers its structural rigidity with subtly modified letterforms that sharpen legibility without sacrificing the crispness of the geometric model. Four widths – Regular, SemiCondensed, Condensed and ExtraCondensed – each span eleven weights with matching italics, and weights are individually crafted rather than mechanically interpolated. OpenType features include small caps, seven numeral styles, case-sensitive punctuation and a set of arrows; a variable font is also available.
Classification
Geometric sans-serif foundation with deliberate humanistic modifications to key letterforms, taking direct cues from W.A. Dwiggins' Metro – placing it within the humanised geometric sans tradition rather than a pure Futura-style geometric.
