Göran Söderström started Exemplar in 1994 on a Power Macintosh 7100 and finished it in 2026, and its stylistic sets still carry the 1994 and 2008 drawings alongside the final one. Five weights with italics, 1018 glyphs, and an Arabic companion give it more reach than almost anything else at this size of family. Letters from Sweden marked the release by carving the typeface's history into marble street signs in Pietrasanta.
