On a mission to create the world’s biggest index of typefaces from the world’s best type foundries

seriftransitional serifitalic
LD Elly specimen from Lazydogs Typefoundry

A calm transitional serif built for continuous reading across Latin, Arabic and Greek text.

About

LD Elly was developed by Bente Baseler during her MA studies at the University of Reading, and named after her great-grandmother Elisabeth. It pairs stable, baseline-anchored serifs with a quiet, even colour across four weights, tuned so the three scripts sit together without any one dominating. It reads as a text face first, built for literature and editorial pages rather than headlines.

Classification
