Designed by Luciano Vergara after a trip to Brazil, Niemeyer blends the geometric clarity of Niemeyer's architectural forms with the organic rhythm of calligraphy, yielding a typeface with warmth and structural confidence. The family spans eight weights from Thin to Black, each accompanied by a matching italic, giving 16 styles in total. Alternative characters, oldstyle figures and broad weight range make it adaptable for logotypes, advertising and publishing.
Classification
A humanist sans-serif with calligraphic roots, combining straight lines with organic curves inspired by Brazilian architecture and calligraphic observation. The organic stroke modulation and warm proportions place it firmly in the humanist sans tradition.
