Emy Slab specimen from Latinotype

A two-subfamily slab serif by Enrique Hernández, spanning seven weights with italics across a text-oriented Basic cut and a display-oriented Alt cut with asymmetric letterforms.

About

Built on Egyptian slab proportions with soft rounded terminals, the family strikes a balance between classical structure and approachable warmth. The Basic subfamily suits editorial and corporate contexts, while the Alt subfamily's asymmetric shapes and contemporary character make it better suited to branding, packaging and screen use. Together, 28 styles cover a character set of 440 glyphs supporting 208 languages.

Classification

Rooted in classical Egyptian slab serif proportions with uniform stroke weight and bracketed serifs, softened by rounded terminals for a friendlier texture. The Alt subfamily introduces asymmetric letterforms and display characteristics, while the Basic subfamily leans towards conventional text use.
