Canturiana specimen from Latinotype

A five-weight Art Deco display serif inspired by Morris Fuller Benton's Canterbury, featuring sinuous curves, swash alternates and over a thousand glyphs for Latin-alphabet languages.

About

Drawing from Benton's Canterbury of the 1920s, Canturiana modernises the Art Deco heritage into a digital typeface suited to titles and short-text compositions. Its sinuous construction yields high contrast and a sensual character, supported by an extensive glyph set including swashes, ligatures and alternate characters. The family covers a wide range of Latin-script languages and is positioned for use across print and digital media where distinction is required.

Classification

A display serif revival inspired by Morris Fuller Benton's Canterbury (1920s), with sinuous curves and high contrast characteristic of Art Deco lettering. Its swashes, alternates and ligatures reinforce its display-oriented, decorative nature.
