serifcontemporary text serifitalic

A text serif that counters the rigidity of a conventional slab, drawing on W. A. Dwiggins' experimental Charter typeface.
About
Odile pairs bracketed head serifs with bracket-free feet, and a steep calligraphic upstroke that gradually lessens across the weight range from Light to Black. Deco and plain Initials plus an Upright Italic extend it into display and ornamental use, and it forms a superfamily with the sans-serif Elido.
Classification
A text serif with bracketed head serifs but bracket-free lowercase feet, softening the rigidity of a conventional slab while keeping a calligraphic upstroke.
