About
Tiempos Headline is the display-size cut of Klim's Tiempos family, a modern transitional serif tracing its lineage through Plantin and Times New Roman. Sowersby originally developed Tiempos Text for a Spanish newspaper redesign, refining the letterfit, spacing and italic angle to suit economic typesetting at text sizes; Headline takes those proportions and snaps them tighter for large-scale use, amplifying stroke contrast and sharpening the details. The family rounds out with Tiempos Fine (2018), a more refined display cut co-designed with Noe Blanco, which intensifies the contrast further for use in luxury editorial contexts like National Geographic Magazine.

Modern Transitional/Realist serif tracing its lineage through Plantin and Times New Roman via Kris Sowersby's earlier Galaxie Copernicus. Tiempos Text originated as an optimisation for a Spanish newspaper redesign and later became a standalone family. Headline is the display-size cut: tighter letterfit, higher stroke contrast, and sharper terminal details than the Text sibling. Tiempos Fine (2018) pushes the contrast and refinement further still. Overall classification sits between Transitional and Realist – mechanically constructed but with warm humanist curves.
