About
Muttayat grew out of research into type design that minimises ink consumption and material use in print, with its circular stroke terminals reconsidered and restructured for a contemporary context. The family spans three weights – Light, Regular and Bold – supporting both Thai and Latin scripts. It received recognition from the Granshan Type Design Competition 2014 in the Non-Latin category, as well as the Good Design Award (G-mark) and DEmark Award in 2013.
Classification
A rounded-head Thai typeface with circular stroke terminals, developed from research into ink-saving type design. Its structure places it firmly within the looped Thai sans-serif tradition, with a contemporary rounded treatment.
