Bantayog takes its source material from the repainted, deteriorated text found on cast iron markers commemorating significant events and national figures in Philippine history. The typeface preserves the imperfect, worn quality of that lettering across three weights, and notably supports the Baybayin script alongside Latin. Its name means 'monument' in Filipino, which anchors the design firmly in its archival intent.
