Norwegian designer Frode Helland's five-weight humanist sans, released in 2019, with near-monolinear strokes, tall ascenders and oblique italics that give it a slightly retro character.
About
Each weight of Indikator sits close to monolinear in stroke contrast, with terminals cut horizontally or vertically rather than at a diagonal. The large x-height and ascenders that overtop the capitals lend it strong legibility at text sizes, while OpenType alternates for figures, 'I', 'l' and a slashed zero extend its utility. The overall feel is less contemporary tech and more mid-twentieth-century European print culture.
Classification
A humanist sans-serif with near-monolinear strokes and horizontal or vertical terminals, consistent with the humanist sans tradition. The large x-height, tall ascenders and oblique-style italics place it firmly within that genre.
