A single-weight horror display typeface by Jérémie Hornus, with 510 glyphs and three drawn variants per letter activated via OpenType to prevent repetition.
About
Designed for Halloween and horror poster contexts, Hate features top-heavy, condensed letterforms with rough strokes, narrow counters and sharp thin endings that suggest hand-lettered menace. The 510-glyph character set provides three alternates per letter, so repeated characters automatically cycle through distinct drawn instances rather than duplicating. Baselines, x-heights and cap-heights vary intentionally across the set, giving the overall text an unsettled, caricatural quality.
Classification
Explicitly designed for Halloween and horror contexts, with rough drawing style, top-heavy letterforms, and multiple glyph variants per character. Its decorative, contextual nature places it firmly in the display category with no practical body-text application.
