A 1990s House Industries font kit built around space-age display letterforms, sold with 99 dingbats, six stereograph patterns and a Peter Thomas remix CD.
About
The collection comprises eight named typefaces – Spaceage in four weights with three stylistic variants each, plus Cyberspace, Outerspace, Solarspace and Spaceport – all sharing a retro-futurist aesthetic drawn from mid-century science fiction lettering. Each Spaceage weight offers Alpha, Beta and Gamma alternates, giving designers a degree of layering and variation across the family. The kit was originally distributed on a multi-session CD-ROM alongside remix music from artists including Coldcut and Stereolab.
Classification
A collection of space-age display faces with multiple named subfamilies and stylistic variants (Alpha, Beta, Gamma), clearly designed for decorative headline use with a 1960s–70s sci-fi aesthetic rather than any functional text role.
