Museum Sans takes the wide, formally balanced proportions of classical inscriptional lettering — the kind found on stone facades of art and cultural institutions — and channels them into a contemporary typeface. It began as a bespoke commission under the name MAAM Sans, with David Jonathan Ross assisting on final font production. The result is a typeface that reads as both archival and current, suited to cultural and institutional contexts.
