MegaMegaTypeType
A theatrical Victorian-horror display face dripping with ornamental detail and gothic fairground atmosphere.
About
Butcherman draws on the richly decorated woodtype and engraved letterforms of nineteenth-century circus and horror ephemera, packing its capitals with internal hatching, serifs, and embellishments. Its applications are firmly in the realm of novelty and theming — Halloween branding, horror-genre titles, carnival-themed events, and similarly atmospheric contexts. Outside those niches it offers very little versatility, functioning as a pure one-trick showpiece.
Classification
Butcherman is a decorative display face inspired by Victorian circus and horror-genre lettering, featuring elaborately ornamented capitals with carved or engraved-style details. The letterforms are heavy and theatrical, evoking a gothic fairground aesthetic.
