Designed by Mattox Shuler and Brian Brubaker, Kodachrome takes the Futura lineage as its starting point but borrows its heaviest inspiration from Spartan and Airport's Black weights, which push further than Futura's own Extra Bold. The lighter weights are suited to small text; the heavier cuts are built for headlines, logotype and signage. Deliberate quirks prevent it from feeling like a generic geometric exercise.
