The serif partner to FF Meta, drawn by Spiekermann, Schwartz and Sowersby with later additions by du Carrois and Nikoltchev.
About
FF Meta Serif grafts sturdy, low-contrast serifs onto the open, slightly quirky shapes of Spiekermann's Meta, so the two sit together naturally in a layout. It reads well in long text and keeps enough character for headings. Six weights with italics, small caps and tabular figures make it a good fit for publications, reports and interfaces that already use FF Meta.
Classification
Serif companion to FF Meta, built by Erik Spiekermann, Christian Schwartz and Kris Sowersby in 2007 on the Meta sans skeleton, with later work by Ralph du Carrois and Botio Nikoltchev. Sturdy, low-contrast serifs and Meta's open apertures and angled details. Six weights with italics, small caps and tabular figures.
