A wide, confident sans by Briton Smith in three widths, with flared terminals and a big x-height that keep it lively at headline size.
About
Bossa takes its name and attitude from the Brazilian idea of bossa: bold, easy and a little playful. Briton Smith drew it with generous width, a large x-height and flared, extended terminals, then cut it in Normal, Extended and Expanded widths, five weights each from Light to Black. It is built for titles and identities, but stays readable enough to carry short runs of text.
Classification
Wide, low-contrast letterforms with a large x-height and flared, drawn-out terminals on the a, s and e. The generous width and three width cuts place it among extended display grotesques rather than geometric sans.
