Telka is a geometric sans-serif by Berlin-based Jan Weidemüller, built around width as its primary design dimension. Three subfamilies – Telka, Telka Extended and Telka Wide – each cover Light through Super across upright and italic styles, giving 36 static fonts in total alongside a variable font with weight, width and italic axes. With 639 glyphs per style and a solid set of OpenType features including stylistic sets, oldstyle numerals and case-sensitive forms, it sits comfortably across branding, editorial and digital work.
Classification
A wide-bodied geometric sans-serif with consistent stroke thickness and no strong humanist modulation. Width variation is the defining design axis, expressed through three subfamilies (Standard, Extended, Wide) rather than optical sizes. Upright and italic styles share the same geometric rhythm; the Super weight pushes toward display territory.
