The sans-serif partner to Octave: Elzevir proportions and heavy capital bowls redrawn geometrically, in seven weights with italics.
About
Octave Sans carries the rhythm of Octave, Faire Type's revival of Beaudoire's 1858 French Elzevir, into a sans-serif, sharing its proportions, weights and distinctive details such as weighty bowls in the capitals. Balanced curves keep it legible from text to display, and it is built to pair seamlessly with the serif. Seven weights from Hairline to Black each have an italic, plus a variable font on weight and slant axes.
Classification
The sans-serif companion to Octave, Faire Type's revival of Théophile Beaudoire's French Elzevir. It keeps the serif's proportions, weights and heavy capital bowls but draws them through a more geometric lens, so it sits between humanist warmth and geometric construction.
