A five-font collection reviving early 20th-century metal type designs — including Erbar's Phosphor, Aurora and Hoefer's Headline — with a hybrid 'Bastard' cut and an accompanying symbols font.
About
Marcus Sterz assembled the family from three period sources: Jakob Erbar's Phosphor (Ludwig & Mayer, pre-1923), Aurora (Johannes Wagner Foundry, 1912) and Karlgeorg Hoefer's Permanent Headline. A fourth cut, Letterpress Bastard, blends characteristics from the three classics, while the Symbols font adds ornamental material sourced from the same metal type boxes. Extensive double-letter ligatures are included across all cuts to reinforce the authentic letterpress appearance.
Classification
A collection of four revivals drawn from historical metal type sources — Erbar's Phosphor (pre-1923), Aurora (1912) and Hoefer's Permanent Headline — combined with a hybrid 'Bastard' cut and a symbols font. The display orientation and period character firmly place this in the display category.
