A redesign of the original Sys family commissioned for the CeMM corporate font, rebuilt for long-text publishing with over 500 glyphs and extensive OpenType features.
About
Sys 2.0 originated from a 2012 commission by the Austrian design firm Lichtwitz Leinfellner for the CeMM corporate identity. The designer used that commission as an opportunity to overhaul the original Sys family after a decade, focusing on improved readability in long printed texts. The result spans eight styles across four weights with matching italics, TrueType hinting and optimisation for broadcast, web and print.
Classification
A sans-serif with geometric sensibility, optimised for publishing and long-form text setting. The pixel-perfect and TrueType hinting suggest a design rooted in screen and print legibility rather than expressive display use.
