About
Originating from Tomás Santa Rosa's hand-lettered cover for the third edition of João Guimarães Rosa's Sagarana (1951), the design takes the 'a' and 'n' from that lettering as its starting point. Vertical stress, strong stroke contrast and fine terminals echo the didone tradition while the absence of serifs gives the face a cleaner, more contemporary character. Three weights – Regular, SemiBold and Bold – cover an extensive Latin character set spanning Romance and several Indo-European languages.
