Designed by Eko Bimantara and released in 2021, Altone prioritises regularity and even rhythm through moderate proportions, a flat apex and closed apertures with straight-cut stroke ends. The family spans nine weights from Thin to Heavy, each accompanied by an oblique, totalling 18 styles. A variable font is also available, giving additional flexibility for responsive and interface applications.
Classification
Geometric sans with grotesque tendencies: flat apex, closed aperture, straight-cut stroke ends and moderate proportional width place it firmly in the geometric grotesque tradition rather than classical Bauhaus geometry.
