Lavishe takes its structural cue from Roman incised lettering, giving its serifs a wedge or triangular form rather than the bracketed serifs of the calligraphic tradition. Sweeping serifs make it striking at display sizes, while distinctively curved lowercase terminals keep the texture calm and readable at smaller settings. The name derives from the Vietnamese phrase 'Là vì SHE', reflecting the character the designer embedded in the letterforms.
