Part of the wider Preto family alongside Sans and Serif subfamilies, Preto Semi uses its serifs not as conventional finishing strokes but as extensions that manage inter-letter spacing and reinforce the horizontal baseline rhythm. The family is designed so all three subfamilies share equal grey value at text sizes, making them interchangeable for multilingual typesetting across editorial and magazine contexts. Four roman weights from Regular to Black each carry a companion italic with generous counter shapes suited to extended text.
