Dx Gaster
Dirty Line Studio · Hendra Maulia · 2021

A high-contrast display serif with sharp triangular serifs and a gently dancing baseline, pitched at luxury branding, editorial headlines and logo work.
About
Released in 2021 by Hendra Maulia at Dirtyline Studio, Dx Gaster is a display serif built around dramatic weight contrast and angular triangular serifs. The full family runs to 17 styles – including upright and italic variable fonts – with discretionary ligatures, swash characters and two stylistic sets across 404 glyphs covering 86-plus languages. A subtly varying baseline gives the letterforms a calligraphic edge that separates it from more conventional Didone-adjacent designs, though its appeal is primarily decorative rather than typographically rigorous.
Classification
High-contrast display serif in the Didone tradition, distinguished by sharp triangular serifs and a slightly varying baseline that gives the letterforms a calligraphic looseness. Strong vertical stress with dramatic thick-thin modulation. Designed primarily for display and branding use.
