A condensed display serif in four optical sizes, originally drawn by Christian Schwartz for the thousandth issue of Esquire in 2015, distinguished by a triangular motif in its head serifs and terminals.
About
Drawn to sit alongside the square geometry of Algebra and the circularity of Graphik, Gingrich answers both with a triangular logic expressed through its head serifs and terminals. It was designed at David Curcurito's request for a milestone editorial project, then later expanded with italics by Kara Gordon for Barron's. Four optical sizes accommodate the full range of magazine display needs, from caption to headline.
Classification
A condensed display serif with a distinctive triangular motif in its head serifs and terminals, designed for large-size editorial use across four optical sizes. The triangular detailing sets it apart from the more geometric and square serifs it was drawn to complement.
